Cam Newton is the next great NFL QB. Yeah, dude wears his emotions on his sleeves, and hates loosing. In the end, Cam is going to turn around that Panthers team. It was a great thing that Steve Smith gave him an attitude adjustment. Smith has been there thick and thin and understands the NFL. Cam Newton is still a very young QB who is still feeling his way. In all, he is a true franchise QB still in infancy. Future is very bright in Carolina these days.

Steve Smith is the sort of player everybody hates,unless he is on your team,then you love him.He really gets on my nerves but you have to respect him as a player.
Newton on the other hand is all about ME,I WANT TO WIN,I ANT TO BE CENTRE OF ATTENTION.

It's all amusing as during the week he was saying in interviews."I'll pass,Run,block,tackle do anything the team needs me to do,if it needs me to go and carry water I'll do that aswell".

He isn't the player I'd want with me in the trenches if things were not going well,give me a less talented QB with heart,one who can inspire those around them to pick up their game.

The last thing I would try on this board is to talk up the 'queens, but when I see Christian Ponder play, this is what I think. Little less talented but man that kid has heart and you can tell he hates losing.

Cam would do well to take a look up north for a little attitudinal adjustment. He's got the tools, no doubt, he just whines and pouts like a little girl who didn't get that pony for her bday again this year

I don't think Smith says anything to him if he doesn't strike that Superman pose when he's still down by a few scores. Newton appears to be spoiled and not use to things not going his way when it comes to football. He better learn and learn quick or he may not make it in the NFL...not because of the talent but because he could become yet another head case.

I gotta' agree with you on Ponder, he looked like a champ against SFran. Still early in the season and plenty of time for him to implode, but if I had him on a fantasy team, I'd start him next week against Detroit. I got an ugly feeling about that game.

Cam is reminding me of those players who had an easy time excelling at the high school/college levels and grew up with their parents/coaches telling them how great they were. Playing in the big leagues is frustrating for guys like this because they're not used to facing adversity and the level of play is so much higher, they become just one of the guys and not the center of attention ... hence the pouting.
