Goodell Concerned That HD TV Is So Good, No Need To Go To Games
There is that group of rabid football fans that value their season tickets, scour stub hub for seats every Sunday and begin their tailgating at the break of dawn.
For many of the NFL’s most loyal fans their Sunday starts with a trip to the store, setting their fantasy roster, and sitting down in the comfort of their own homes, to watch 12 plus hours of NFL coverage. With the upgrade in advanced technology and different devices, the NFL has created its own conundrum. The NFL would love all their stadiums to be sold out, packed with lines to get in. The NFL also loves their TV contracts, and has commercial and deals with Sony, Direct TV and other companies. Yes the NFL has a catch 22 going on. As a season ticket holder in Atlanta, I can vouch that league wide STH are getting the shaft to begin with by having to pay for preseason tix at full price. Plus, you are right, I actually enjoy the away games since I'm at home with the NFL package & can see more what's going on throughout the league. I wish they would show more highlights in the Ga Dome as they happen or right after they happen. With all the timeouts & reviews going on you'd think it would be possible. Also, how about the NFL allowing each venue to show games currently being played while waiting for your game to start (ie. for the 4:15 kickoffs). Just my take....

Well I sell my tickets except for great matchups anyway.

New at home tech for tv 's and cable/sat packages, great.
Still being there is being there. Seeing what is happening on the sidelines as well as the field, the whole place at one time is something you don't experience from tv no mater how wide screen or what cable/satellite package you have. The thrill and sights and sounds of the fans, half-time show, everything is worth being there. |

Game day at the Dome cannot be replicated in the living room.

I'm sure most Falcon fans would rather watch their home games on their 13 inch black and white in their meth-smelling Walmart furnished doublewide than go to that circus tent they call a dome. |

I like watching the games at home/in a bar with HD TV, but like it's been pointed out, there's nothing like 'being there',. |

Is that the reason we have to pay to see games on Thursday nights, I think football is going to become like the wrestling thing and cage fight. A lot of PPV to watch the good stuff!!
