P Manning or A Peterson?

Who's your pick for comeback player of the year?

Both are having great years. But I'm going w Adrian Peterson. I know what it's like to go through reconstructive knee surgery, and for him to come back this fast and this strong in such a short amount of time is superhuman. True definition of Beast.

AP, hands down. I can't stand the other winney spoiled brat. Ever since he threw a tantrum and stormed off the field after the superbowl and didn't shake Drew's hand I havent liked him.

Peterson. He's a freak of nature. What he's done this year is remarkable. Forget about Comeback Player of Year... he may wind up being the MVP of the league when he breaks Dickerson's record.

Re: P Manning or A Peterson?

I gave this some serious thought a few weeks ago before deciding on Adrian Peterson, all day,. The injuries to both players are significant and for the life of me, I can't figure why Manning chooses to play after a neck injury, but he's having a great year.

The deciding factor (for me) was the impact of each player's individual contribution to their team. Manning has returned to his old form and is leading the Broncos to another Division Championship. Peterson breathed life into a sputtering Vikings offense. Without Manning, the Broncos are still probably a .500 team. Peterson is the Vikings offense, without him, they return to the basement of the NFC North.

I can also see them spreading the awards around ... Peterson getting MVP of the league, Peyton getting Comeback Player of the Year, or if vice versa if Manning would win a SuperBowl. They both deserve to have their accomplishments recognized.

Of course, you'll have to make room for Calvin in there somewhere when he breaks Jerry Rice's record,.

AP easy

ill be rooting for him to break dickersons record

You would think any player breaking total yards records in a season would be a lock to win the MVP.
Well I did till last year when Drew and Sproles where disgracefully never mention for breaking long standing records.

I'm not still bitter

Without a doubt, Jonathan Vilma. He came back from a season long suspension, to serve a zero game suspension. Well done, Jon.

But seriously, Adrian Peterson. I don't like giving him credit, because I pretty much abhor the entire Vikings organization. He has in fact earned it, though.

Re: P Manning or A Peterson?

I like them both, but I am going with Peyton. One, his injury was so bad he missed an entire year then had to come back and do it with an entirely diffrent team.

I definitely agree with this. I hope it happens. They both are very deserving.

Give Peyton the comeback player award and AP the MVP

Re: P Manning or A Peterson?

I think AP doesn't qualify because he was injured at the very end of the season and didn't miss any time. Otherwise, it would be a hard decision, but I think AP would take it. It will be Manning.

Peyton Manning - Comeback Player of the Year
Peyton Manning - Most Valuable Player
Adrian Peterson - Most Valuable Modern Day Slave.

Re: P Manning or A Peterson?

Denver has done what the Vikings tried to do. If they don't win a championship this year they still have no long term solution at QB. As we know Manning is great at winning games but championships are another story.

thefifthwall 12-21-2012 11:05 AM

Peyton achieved best ever before injury
Peterson achieved best ever after injury
Both exceptional but I gotta give the vote to AP

Re: P Manning or A Peterson?

AP should get Comeback Player and Manning should get MVP because Broncos wouldn't be in position they are without him.

Too bad Vikings didnt play Saints this year! Against our defense AP would have gotten a huge chunk of what he needed! Of course, someone would then have said that his record needed an asterisk since he played against the Saints!

Come on 'Bama, that isn't necessary.

Neither was his comments about comparing his situation to slavery. I know, tit-for-tat is a bit childish, but oh well. He asked for it and I'm happy to oblige.

Re: P Manning or A Peterson?

Id tend to disagree that the Broncs wouldn't be in the playoffs without Peyton. The Broncos went with Tebow last season. AP is the only offensive threat on that team, yet approaching an epic record one year removed from a devastating knee injury. Take AP out, and the Vikes would be staring at 3-13 IMO. Having both AP and Harvin out at once would be too difficult for Vikes fans to fathom.

TheOak 12-24-2012 11:20 AM

Denver made the play offs with out Manning last year, I don't see how he is in the running for MVP, or provided value beyond what they has last year.

Minnesota on the other hand would be no where with our Peterson.

Peterson hands down for Most Valuable Player.
