Well on our Way to Locking up the 8-8
Fumble, replay reviewed, all the announcers say "Yep, it's clearly a fumble, Saint's guy picks it up, clearly had it off the ground before his foot came down, whether it was in or out. He wouldn't have gotten the yards anyway, but that was such a screw job.
Anyone else catch that one? I know it didn't matter that much, but that was the turning tide, the clear rip-off. And who knew? I thought instant replay was supposed to keep stuff like that from happening--but it doesn't matter, if the ref is paid-off, he's going to make some kind of crap up. |

Saw that too. Even mike perreira said they blew the call, and he usually nails the call.

Re: Well on our Way to Locking up the 8-8
The announcers said it was because the referee wasnt shown the overhead view of the Saints defender picking up the ball.

Re: Well on our Way to Locking up the 8-8
Christ, doesn't the referee have multiple views, and control over it?
That really pissed me off--it may have ended up close, but there was never a more clear momentum changer than that. It had to feel like the ref had been paid-off. |

I hate Refs

Quote:
Shouldnt have to be an overhead view to see it. Referees have done their share to keep the Saints grounded this season as well. |
Re: Well on our Way to Locking up the 8-8
The best thing about that terrible replay was that the next play, Stills goes down field, Drew hits him 40 yards out perfectly for a long, long touchdown!!
It was like "Screw you" referees. You're going to have to miscall a lot of plays to take this game away, so many it'll look obvious. Arizona lost anyway--still... |

Mixing up my years--this one popped up.
