That would be cool. Damn salary cap situation. Just puts more pressure on really nailing it in the draft since we can't really sign free agents.

Avril is right at the age and production level where he'll never have more leverage than he does now. I can't imagine he'd take a discount, even for the chance to win. But if he's one of those rare guys who really just wants a ring that bad, then it would be nice to have him.

He might still bite... he has let us know in the past that he doesn't hold Avril in very high regard, and has warned against overpaying for his services.

I think Avril played linebacker in college, so I'm sure he thinks he can do it, but there's a reason they converted him to DE in the pros ... maybe he can't cover, IDK. I just know he's asking for way more than he's worth, at any position.

I am not over the edge yet thats for sure. sure bring him in but think long and hard on how he going to be in the locker room.

what am i worried about we aint got enough cheese here

Yeah, that's something you have to consider with any Detroit player given the locker room issues they've had the past few seasons, but I honestly don't think Avril was a big part of that. I think he's the kind of player that will blend into whatever locker room environment he's in, kind of like a chameleon ... now, if he only could truly play OLB at the NFL level, :lol:.

That maybe why he wants out of motown too. i have thought about it.

We don't need and should not want Cliff Advil now; not a fit, not the one we need, nope, nada, nyet and certainly not for 10mil; I wouldn't pay more than 2.5 for him because once he gets the big mo, he's gonna smash his @$$ like Will Smith!

I think we would bring him in just to increase the cost of any other team to sign him, thus reducing the amount of available cash that can be used to bid against us for the players we really want.
