That's probably exactly what is going on here - the draft is deep with mid- to high level talent (short on elite) on the defensive front 7, so it would only be logical that they focus on other areas in the free agency.

four-year deal with San Diego on Wednesday night worth a maximum of $20 million with $10.25 million guaranteed, according to a source.

not to bad of a deal. now we have an idea what it will cost us

Keenan Lewis has just as much potential to be great as Cox. He'd be a great pick up. Why do I feel like if we were to sign two corners (Lewis and asomugha) then a corner would have to get cut?

I feel the same.
You feel that way probably because we have some dead weight back there at the corner positions.

A Lewis/Asomugha acquisition would be an instant upgrade to the defense and give fans something to look forward to on D ever since we were picked apart position by position after 2010 Superbowl.
