Source: Mike Jenkins to join RaidersUpdated: April 8, 2013, 11:21 PM ETESPN.com news services Recommend0Tweet0Comments1EmailPrintThe Oakland Raiders and free-agent cornerback Mike Jenkins have agreed to a contract, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
AFC West blog ESPN.com's Bill Williamson writes about all things AFC West in his division blog. • Blog network: NFL Nation Jenkins, who spent the past six years with the Dallas Cowboys, is the second cornerback the Raiders have signed this offseason, having added Tracy Porter last week. A former Pro Bowler, Jenkins lost his starting job last season when the Cowboys signed Brandon Carr to a five-year, $50.1 million deal and moved up in the draft to select Morris Claiborne. "Jenkins is very capable, I think a good cornerback," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said in March. "We happen to be pretty committed relative to the rest of our roster. We have to be pretty committed at cornerback. Under a different circumstances, Jenkins might be a little different story for us right now. He would be a different story right now, he certainly wouldn't be out of our radar as far as having him of bringing him back as a starter. I think Jenkins is a starting cornerback in the NFL." Information from ESPN.com's Bill Williamson and ESPNDallas.com's Calvin Watkins contributed to this report. Well the Raiders signed another CB that we were looking at. I have a question are we just looking at these CB and have no intention on signing them. I don't think there was a big market for Tracy Porter or Mike Jenkins so how is it would couldn't sign one of them. |
Re: Mike Jenkins
We signed a corner with upside and ignored the ones on the downside. I have no issue with that.

Re: Mike Jenkins
Well I agree with both of you guys it just funny you keep hearing were rumored to be after these guys and we can't sign them. Nethier one of them shouldn't be asking for much.

Re: Mike Jenkins
Porter I think needed to generate interest, which is why you saw him in the building..... job complete. No one on our staff ever talked to Jenkins at all. It speaks volumes to me that Rob Ryan was not on board with bringing in Jenkins!!!!

Re: Mike Jenkins
I love how in all these articles they make it sound like us not being able to sign Porter was a horrible deal. Hell Im surprised we even brought him in for a look.
