And yet Luck,Wilson,RG3 have proved you dont need to sit for a few years prior to starting.We have millions locked up in a QB for at least three years and have little cap room to play with because of that,we are not in a position to draft a QB to sit with holes in the O-line and all over the defense.A LT,OLB,CB,ILB,S are far more valuable to us for the next few years.
Lets say you draft Smith he sits for three years then gets to start.He has two years on his deal and then if he does well you need to pay out a big contract to keep him.Sign somebody in two years and he sits for a year and has four years on his deal still.The saints are in a better cap room to get free agents.
