Eagles release cornerback Brandon Hughes
 

The Eagles have released cornerback Brandon Hughes, the club said Saturday.

A fifth-year pro from Oregon State, Hughes had been ruled out of Monday’s game at Washington with a hand injury.

Hughes, 27, can provide depth in the secondary and help on special teams. He’s recorded 31 tackles and defended two passes in three seasons with Philadelphia.

The Eagles have one open roster spot.
