Benjamin Watson on Ndamukong Suh play: “Enough is enough”
Where Sullivan wouldn’t go, New Orleans Saints tight end Benjamin Watson would.
“I hesitate to call a player dirty simply because I don’t know their intent, but I do know what he did was illegal and I do know he has done it multiple times so it comes a time when enough is enough,” Watson told Andrew Siciliano on NFL Network. “We need to get what he is doing rectified and we need to sit down as players and talk to him. We are talking about player safety and obviously this is a play that lies outside of that. As players, we need to hold ourselves accountable.” Benjamin Watson on Ndamukong Suh play: "Enough is enough" - FanSided - Sports News, Entertainment, Lifestyle & Technology - 240+ Sites |
Benjamin Watson on Ndamukong Suh: “Enough is enough”
Hellz Yeah!
Benjamin Watson on Ndamukong Suh: “Enough is enough” | ProFootballTalk Among NFL players, there’s no greater sin than to take a cheap shot at another player’s knee. So it’s no surprise that NFL Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is feeling the wrath of his fellow players. Suh, who was fined $100,000 for a hit to Vikings center John Sullivan’s knee, took heat from Saints tight end Benjamin Watson, who says Suh needs to knock off the cheap shots. As players, we need to hold ourselves accountable.” Watson also pointed out that even if Suh doesn’t care about the wellbeing of his opponents, he ought to care about his team. And Suh has hurt his team with penalties, especially the shot on Sullivan, which cost the Lions an interception return for a touchdown. “It is a team game,” Watson said, “and at some point it is going to cost the team a game. So if you care about your team, if you care about the guys you are in the game with, you are going to play within the rules.” Even if the league office can’t rein Suh in, the Lions need to. No matter how talented Suh is, he’s not worth the trouble if his penalties are costing his team big plays. |

Re: Benjamin Watson on Ndamukong Suh: “Enough is enough”
IDK, chop blocking is not something new or unique to Ndamukong Suh ... hell, it used to be legal in the '70s & that play may have only been called as a 'clip', if that ... my point being, jump on the "Suh is a dirty player" bandwagon (Watson) when he actually does something extraordinary, like stomping/kicking, not when he does something you can see any offensive lineman doing on any given Sunday.
It was a bonehead play, nothing more, nothing less. It was not a malicious act with intent to injure. Unfortunately for Suh, his reputation proceeds him and he's not going to receive the benefit of the doubt, and deservedly so ... it is what it is,. |

the only thing stopping Suh from being great is Suh.

Re: Benjamin Watson on Ndamukong Suh: “Enough is enough”
This debate is so stupid and will continue to happen in "Goodell's NFL" and damn it NFLN stfu about other topics when a Saints player is on. I can't stand it when they have someone on air and they talk about another team's player or how another team is playing. If I wanted to hear about the Lions, I would rather someone from that team not the Saints

I'm for throwing-a-player-under-the-bus as much as the next fan, but $100,000? This is clearly the league trying to make an example of a player, similar to how they were over-zealous in their punishment of the Saints. |
