Aldon Smith charged with DUI
 

Coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters Friday the 49ers have yet to decide whether Aldon Smith will play at Indianapolis.

Andrew Luck owners should be watching this situation closely, because if Smith does not play Luck is going to be a much better fantasy start. In an unbelievably knuckleheaded move, Smith partied all night and tried driving to the team facility at 7AM in the morning. He was smashed drunk with weed in the car, passed out at the wheel while hitting a tree, and still didn't wake up, as Smith's foot remained on the accelerator when police arrived. This is Smith's second DUI as an NFL player. He's in his third season.

Updating a previous item, coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters he expects Aldon Smith to play in Week 3 despite Smith's Friday morning arrest for suspicion of DUI and marijuana possession.

I've lost all respect for Harbaugh. Apparently winning football games triumphs everything.

We don't play them until week 11, he'll be playing by then...

If the league punishes, it will be in a week... They will give a suspension.... He will appeal... Bu the time he starts his suspension he may actually be out for our game.

Wow, makes their decision to trade Haralson to us for a mere 7th round pick look pretty suspect. Homeboy is probably going to get suspended for at least 6 weeks.

He's also being investigated for possession of illegal automatic weapons, getting sued by a guy who was shot at one of his house parties (supposedly Smith himself was the shooter), has had another DUI and a different suspicious car wreck that he claimed was caused by a "deer."

Think Goodell is going to come down hard on this cat.

The NBA went through a stretch like this with the offcourt incidents, how did they curb it? You hardly hear about it anymore ... the NFL is the new NBA, :rolleyes:.

At least he didn't kill anybody.

But seriously, you've gotta send a message to guys like Smith. There are too many "incidents" in too short a span to call it bad luck. Discipline him, then get him some help before he DOES do something disastrous.
