Bucs release Josh Freeman
Just saw the alert on NFL.com

Re: Bucs release Josh Freeman
And the Tampa soap opera continues...or does it end?
|
Re: Bucs release Josh Freeman
Won't be over till they get rid of that dumb gorilla they have coaching. Who the **** hires a mediocre college coach with a reputation of being a hated **** bag?
|
Re: Bucs release Josh Freeman
Saints sign Josh Freeman to vet minimum. Brees will groom you my child. Come to New Orleans and learn.
|
Re: Bucs release Josh Freeman
They are absolute idiots. Instead of keeping their mouths shut and trying to trade him for anything they could get, they leak his drug test status and release him.
|
Re: Bucs release Josh Freeman
I have never really liked Josh Freeman, but it's pretty clear to see he's been treated pretty poorly. "Victim" seems like a strong word, but if the Adderal/Ritalin story is actually true and the Buccaneers leaked the fact that he was in the drug program, I'd say he can sue the living crap out of them.
Kid still can play. I'd be surprised if somebody didn't pick him up by the end of next week, again if the adderal story is the truth. I'm actually starting to feel bad for Buccaneers fans. |
Re: Bucs release Josh Freeman
Schiano came out todsy saying before he got there the bucs were a laughing stock but he has turned them around.
Now whatever people think of Morris he had them closer too .500 with less talent. Schiano 7-13 Morris 14-18 I cant stand Schiano, seems to have a massive ego for a man that has done nothing in the game bar build a really dirty team. |

LOL, how has he turned them around? They're 0-4 and didn't even play .500 ball his first year.
What an clown! |
Re: Bucs release Josh Freeman
He's better than Blaine Gabbert/Chad Henne. Just sayin'.
|
Re: Bucs release Josh Freeman
I can't stand greg schiano, but the fact that not one single team was willing to make a trade for josh freeman indicates that there are probably more negative issues surrounding freeman than meet the eye.
Still, freeman will collect $6.1M from the yucs plus whatever he gets paid from any team that picks him up. Who knows, maybe even lawsuit $$ from the yucs or nfl for the leak. |
Re: Bucs release Josh Freeman
The boy has all what you want in a qb. Cannon arm, tall, and can scramble a lil bit. Just could never get the mental and consistency part down. I blame the organization for not lighting a fire under his arse. Good organizations can turn slackers into solid players.

Re: Bucs release Josh Freeman
Dude....where's the Bucs QB? Not at a photo shoot, nor at practice, not even on the team!!!

A few more losses and the Falcons are going to have a shake up on their hands as well, maybe not at QB but Smith could be gone. I could totally see him getting fired.
|
Re: Bucs release Josh Freeman
I wish they would have kept him, now they might actually get good.
|
Re: Bucs release Josh Freeman
I love it because dumb moves like this used to be done by the Saints, now we all can point and laugh at teams and organizations that suck |
Re: Bucs release Josh Freeman
Like when we drafted Deuce and he was sitting on the bench the first year. Think they were using him as a kick returner.
|
Re: Bucs release Josh Freeman
I was hoping Tampon Bay would keep a mediocre QB and mediocre coach for years to come. Guess we'll just have to be satisfied with a piss poor coach and no name QB.

Re: Bucs release Josh Freeman
Freeman is everything you do not want in a QB.
Leadership ~ No Consistent ~ No Accurate ~ No Reliable ~ No He is emotionally and mentally unstable, the cause for the Stage one participation in the Leagues drug program. He is the Garrett Hartley of QBs. |

New Orleans, New England, New York (football) Giants, San Francisco ... all seem like good places for Freeman to land in order to get the attention he needs, but I think the kid needs to learn to better deal with the ups/downs of an NFL career before he can contribute to a team. Now that I think about it, I actually think Harbaugh (SFran) would do him some good ... Jimmy H. is a known a-hole that would give Freeman all the 'tough-love' he needed to get his head back in the game. Just my opinion. |
Re: Bucs release Josh Freeman
Careers that have weekly ups and downs combined with personalities that have their own exaggerated ups and downs do not make for anything resembling stability.
What I do not get are people like Freeman and Hartley taking the Aderal illegally when they can get it legally from a Dr. Unless they do not have ADHD. Then it's a PED. |
Re: Bucs release Josh Freeman
God damn I love having Sean Payton back, dude is the epitome of class and leadership. Notice how well we dealt with the bull sh*t from last year? Payton took the suspension on the chin and didn't try to create a bigger circus. Even when that bullsh*t came up about SP leaving for Dallas, he kept it mum.
|
Re: Bucs release Josh Freeman
There was no way anybody was going to trade for him because every team in the league already knew, if the Bucs didn't trade him then Tampa was going to cut him loose, why give up anything when you can get it for cheaper just by waiting.
He'll get a gig somewhere. I really hope he gets picked up by someone on their schedule later this year, so that Tampa Bay will end up paying Freeman $6 million to play against them, like that guy from the Yankees in the movie Moneyball. That would be the ultimate in absurdity. |
