Falcons receiver Roddy White says that if his team is going to start winning games, it needs to figure out what kind of team it wants to be.

White said on 92.9 The Game that the Falcons aren’t doing anything well, on offense or defense.

“To tell you the truth, this team doesn’t have an identity right now because we don’t do one thing really, really well,” White said, via the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “That’s why I think we’re struggling. In years past, on defense we got a lot of turnovers. So, we’d turn the turnovers into points. This year we are not getting any turnovers. On the offensive side, we are not moving the ball like we used to. Even when we are moving it, we suck in the red zone right now. You know, it’s terrible when we get down there.”

White, who has been playing through a sprained ankle, said that in hindsight, he wonders if he should have sat out a couple of games to let his injury fully heal. Still, for as badly as this season has gone both for him and the team, White doesn’t believe the Falcons are as bad as their record suggests.

“It’s been frustrating because we haven’t been winning,” White said. “Coach tells us every day, that’s just the NFL. People get hurt in the league every day. That can’t be the reason why are losing games. You have to find other ways to win. . . . We are 1-4. But the best part about it is that we go in there every week thinking that we are three plays from being 4-0 or three plays from being 5-0. There are a lot of good things that we are doing on film.”

Now the Falcons need to find a way to turn those good things on film into a way to win games.
