God (Goodell) forbid you tackle anyone anymore ...

Three personal fouls on this play ... 3! The game as we know it is being systematically ruined by over-officiating in the name of "safety" ... might as well just get 'em out there in practice attire (helmets & gym shorts) and run 'em through a series of predesigned, choreographed plays, serving mint juleps/mocha latte's to the fans at halftime,. |

This is the same thing that happened when they started using kitty cats instead of lions in Rome.

Been saying this since before Goodellgate (I mean Bountygate).
The game as we know it is over. In 10 years we will barely recognize the game and dream about the "golden age of football" an era that is now done. Since all these rules and crap have been in place for head injuries, have head injuries become fewer in the NFL? Doubt it. In fact, I see more players carted off and helmets flying off heads in every game then I've ever seen before. |

:p
Many many years ago in Britball (British American Football) I was watching my team Birmingham Bulls in the playoffs against Thames Valley Chargers. Bulls got a touchdown and had the extra point(s) attempt to come. Somehow the officials threw 3 flags on the kick and then announced Penalty on the play. 3 x triple clipping. We all roared. Even the Bulls players roared with laughter (or should that have been snorted?). However the officials marked off 45 yards for the retake which led to even greater hilarity as the Bulls attempted several laterals to try a 3 point conversion. And they almost made it, being tackled a couple of yards short. Memorable day. (We won). Maybe Goddell was present that day, as an official intern? |

What gets me is the defenseless receiver flags safeties always draw. They might as well make a 5 yard halo around the receiver rule...
Let them catch it and hope like hell you can stop them after the catch. And what makes it worse is that it's very inconsistent even in the same game. :bs: |

I can understand concussion problems in this game, but its at a point now where you begin to wonder why they wear Helmets anymore. Another rule that needs to just go is when you slap a QB's helmet and they call Unnecessary roughness, all because you trying to tackle the QB. |

Goodell is still in POWER.
