Re: Texans fired Gary Kubiak
Nick Saban to Texas? :p

Re: Texans fired Gary Kubiak
Most Texans fans are drooling over Kevin Sumlin. Well they were until he signed a new 6 year deal with A&M.
Wade Phillips taking over as interim. I dont get the whole, wait until the season is no longer salvageable then fire the head coach with 4 weeks left... If you are going to jet someone do it while there can be a positive outcome or finish out the year... Mike Smith next? |
Re: Texans fired Gary Kubiak
I'd sign him in a heartbeat to work with our running game. He was responsible for the great rushing attack that the Broncos used to have.

Re: Texans fired Gary Kubiak
@Oak - I think Mike Smith is safe for another season according to Caddieman. They're totally stoked.

Re: Texans fired Gary Kubiak
Kubiak was an OC and QB coach in Denver. He hasn't coached RBs since A&M. If he doesn't have the ability to effect the play of our offensive line he cant help much.

Jones said he will not fire Garrett. I believe Glazier has said Schiano's job is safe also... All of that is fine and dandy until an owner wakes up one morning and comes to terms with "he aint gonna get it done". I am taking the wait and see approach... I think they have all stepped off into the arena where their job security depends on what mood the owners wakes up in. |
Re: Texans fired Gary Kubiak
My wife texts me to tell me he got fired.....the text read...." Hmm see what happens when you take off a woman's program for your bull**** team"
Here in Houston the game was aired on nfl network, as well as abc..... And In order to get that air time they had to cancel her scandal.....Rotfla her yesterday |
Re: Texans fired Gary Kubiak
I was in a bar and caught the very very tail end of that game last night. As a Saints fan used to the Dome, it was shocking to see so many empty seats.
As far as the question of timing goes, I think it's one of those things. If your coach can't get it done against Jacksonville, then when IS he going to get it together --how much longer does he need? The Texans are actually a pretty GOOD team, talentwise, so this has been a very fascinating implosion. |

Re: Texans fired Gary Kubiak
As much as I hate to say this THE OAK is right on this one. Gary Kubiak was never responsible for the o-line in Denver. Alex Gibbs was the man in charge of the o-line in Denver when they were putting up all those numbers with those different backs

Re: Texans fired Gary Kubiak
The Houston Texans have heart. Spirit. Guts.
I do not dislike the Texans. Kubiak as HC had some really good years there. No one cannot say it was surpirse that he was fired and first HC of this season to be fired. The man had a mini stroke. he is fairly young still and has a young family. I can see him still being in the NFL as asst. coach somehwere and he will have less stress. Maybe he should do that or find a career in the overly crowded commentators. I agree Oak. No matter what is said now, Atl media, or rumors from AtlFalcons, AtlFal Mike Smith is probably up next. |

Re: Texans fired Gary Kubiak
Former Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak bought a full-page advertisement in the Sunday Houston Chronicle to deliver a message to Houston.
The ad appeared on Page C3 of the Sunday sports section. Kubiak was fired on Friday, just three games shy of eight full seasons. Kubiak finished 61-64. Kubiak is a Houston native, former Oilers ballboy and former St. Pius X and Texas A&M quarterback. It’s a rarity, if it’s ever happened, when a fired coach buys an add to thank people. A truly classy move by Kubiak. From the ad: “Thank you, Houston. I want to thank the players, the coaches, and staff for their tireless work and commitment. And especially to the fans, you are the best in the NFL. It was an honor to return to my hometown to work my dream job. My family and I thank you for eight great years.” - Gary and Rhonda Kubiak” Ultimate Texans » Gary Kubiak buys Houston Chronicle ad to thank team, fans, city Classy guy! |
