Manning needs 266 yds. on the road @ Houston to break Brees' record.

I remember when Brees broke Marino's record, a lot of the sports heads said it wasn't a big deal because the rules favored the offense and the WRs.

On the NFL Live show today, Schlereth boasted that Manning would break the record in the 1st half, and was happier than a punk in a CC camp.

But the hypocrisy from the sports heads when Drew broke it to the open admiration for Peyton is galling.

Remember when Megatron was close to 2k yards and talking heads were downplaying it as "garbage yards" in games they were losing? Most bass-ackwards "reporting" I've heard in sports, and that includes ESPN.

Records are there to be broken.If he does well done to him.Its on Brees to go out and throw for more yards next season.

Look at Brees: the guy never comes off the field

Peyton has to figure this is his last shot at it; I suspect he'll go for it

Already is, he's close to the 4th, and 3rd consecutive. But let's be honest, he's the only one that's broken it twice.

Manning has 1 SB. Same as Brees. Even his little bro has trumped him with no records. Who cares.

Brees only has 2 consecutive 5K passing seasons: 2012 & 2011; his other one was in 2008.

Close to the 4th 5k passing season, AND, close to the 3rd consecutive 5k passing season.

Make that 3 consecutive seasons with 5k, however I would rather establish a run game and keep Brees alive for a few more seasons.
