Re: Ditka chimes in on Goodell’s compensation
All commissioners have all ways earned more than the POTUS. Nothing profound here. Especially coming from Ditka.

Total Comp is always > than salary.

Almost surprising ESPN did not slap him on the wrist ...

Re: Ditka chimes in on Goodell’s compensation
Don't begrudge a man to earn his wage - but when the League gets greedy with exclusive distribution and exorbitant prices in there television packages, Goodell should expect his salary to be called into question and answer for same...even if that response is - this is what I make, this is what we charge, **** you if you don't like it...

This is how the league maintains its non profit tax status, the revenue from the regular season tickets goes to the teams or Benson in our case. |

Do you care to provide evidence to the contrary or just deal out sarcasm and garner minion likes? ;) Or do you mean in a brown paper bag at the docks? Sure.... Rob Ryan in a Crown Vic, rainy night.. I can see it now. Seriously, ticket sales barely make chump change status for the League. 60/40 home visitor split on the "gate". Concessions etc. go to the home team. Let's see Goodell's salary is 44m. DirecTV paid the League 4BN (with a B) over the last 4 years. Goodell's salary is barely the lime jello square at a Chinese Buffet. $4,000,000,000.00 and I haven't even started on all the network contracts for MNF, TNF, SNF, Super Bowl commercials, jerseys, NFL Shop sales, licensing, etc... Ticket sales are scraps for the league. Tom Benson has around 130M in payroll a season, plus stadium costs, and all costs associated with the team, that's why it goes to him. If the league makes profit, it loses non-profit status. I realize some can't get their head wrapped around it but it is what it is. Keep in mind, Roger Goodell and the league are not the owners of the teams. The 32 owners of the teams own the League and are Goodell's bosses. There is no kick up or kick down. |

I know, I replied with a joke. Smash and I are two Frenchmen, what would you expect? I know Rob Ryan doesn't drive a Crown Vic, he has a van. ;) |
