Dirtiest defense
I was rewatching the Saints / Seahawks game and it was quite appart just how much holding, early arrivals to the ball and stuff going on in the pile that Seattle gets away with and even the announcers make light of when it's obvious for all to see.
Worse scence was when Ingrham fumbled. There was a hawk pulling and twisting him violently out of the pile by the ankle One thing the Saints need is someone to teach our receivers how to fight off the holds at the line and to come back to the ball We dont get the pi on the road Who's your dirtiest defense? |
Re: Dirtiest defense
I want us to be the dirtiest defense. That's something that makes me want to root for the Seahawks. That and those clean ass jerseys. But forget those poo butts, it's our year.

Re: Dirtiest defense
Have to forge the OL. The D is good but the OL needs refining.
Protect Brees and nobody will be able to stop it, even the Seahawks. I honestly believe a lot of the holding and PI will be called this coming season. It got absolutely ridiculous and made me not even want to watch 3/4 through the season and the NFL is aware of it. I know I'm not the only one that lost interests. It's going to be dealt with. |
Re: Dirtiest defense
I hope you are right
It seemed like the league had it out for the Saints post "bounty" they didn't want to see us win It started with the Patriots Talib's coverage on Graham was pretty obviously not being called then every other team piled on |
Re: Dirtiest defense
Other teams knew they would get the benefit of the doubt against the Saints post bounty. However, it will be tougher this year with the recognition that dirty play is getting.

Re: Dirtiest defense
I don't want our defense to be the dirtiest. I do want them to be the most feared, hard-hittingest, offense getting carted of the field defense.
I want WR/TE/RB "Hearing footsteps" when they think about catching a ball across the middle. |
Re: Dirtiest defense
I could be in the minority here but I wouldn't even label the Seachickens as a dirty team. They were a very physical (Kam Chancellor comes to mind) & smothering defense most of last season. As for Ingram getting his ankle twisted in the pile, one could argue that the Saints players could be accused of doing that to our opponents as well. Lots of foul things go down in the trenches that the cameras don't always catch.
If you want to truly see a "dirty" defense, watch some of those old NFL network games of those 70's & 80's Oakland Raiders or Steeler teams. Bill Romonoski & Suh would embrace playing on those type teams. |

Rub up against the rules all you like...
Dirty ends up giving your opponent a 1st down with 1 minute left on the clock. |
