Many forget that this nation and the DC area has a great history. The corruption and waste is obviously an easy target, but the world would be a much worse place if this Nation never existed.

I hate current politicians more than just about 90% of the population, but I don't hate this Nation's history and its contributions to a better world.

I think honoring the contributions and sacrifices of black patriots from WWII is absolutely perfect for replacing Redskins.

Although I certainly don't object to DC politicians and elitists being ridiculed because of their current incompetence either.

The shame of it all is that the 'skins have a very loyal fan base and sell out every game- they don't deserve Snider or the Native American controversy.
The team has tradition and some very good rivalries.

When are the NFL and Herr Goodell going to weigh in? The rescinding of the patent logo will affect the NFL as well.

The "city" should be removed from every team name that is not "owned" by the people that support it. Ask the Cleveland Browns or Baltimore Colts, Los Angles Rams and Raider fans. I believe that would leave just one team The Green Bay Packers.

Change Washington to the Read Skyns! Keep the logo.

They need to just change their name to "Red Pigskins" and shorten that to "REDKINS" and get it over with. Shorten their name to the "Redkins" removing the "S".

Yes, pigskins (footballs) are red, and pigskins references to the "Hogs" offensive line of the Joe Gibbs era.

It would piss off the "offensive to racial group" crowd and create a new nickname that's offensive to no-one, Trademark-able and end it. People can still call them "Redskins" all they want, but they're the "Redkins" - short for "Red Pigskins"

Last, just change their uniform and logo back to the original of the team with the "R" and remove that stupid Indian that's ugly and weak to start with.

KILL 100 BIRDS WITH 1 STONE (or marketing move), and TICK OFF the President, gODhELL and flip the bird at the rest of the weak minded American's sold into this con game.

I have met three of the RedTails pilots. Great men. Smart, very humble and if there was a change from RedSkins, I'd vote for that.

I don't really know how to tie the Tuskegee Airmen to Washington. I do think Alabama would be for it.
