Koetter: Falcons used silent count at home against Bears
Exhibit 1A for why the failcowns suck!
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Football teams typically turn to a silent count on offense to combat adverse conditions on the road. The Atlanta Falcons had to rely on such a method at home. Offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter admitted he had to go with a silent count during Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Chicago Bears at the Georgia Dome. The dome typically is noisy, but there was a little added volume with the influx of Bears fans. "Believe or not, for a home game, we had to go to silent count because there was enough noise in the dome -- noise always echoes in there both for us and against us," Koetter said. "That's maybe only the second time since I've been here when we've had to go to a silent count at home." Koetter couldn't recall the other time, although he said it might have been against Seattle last season. The Seahawks won that game, 33-10. Koetter referenced the silent count in discussing the late-game protection issues by the offensive line against the Bears. He noted that pass-rushers Jared Allen and Willie Young were able to get after Matt Ryan a little harder with the Falcons facing a double-digit deficit, meaning throwing the ball was the only true option. Ryan was sacked a season-high four times in the game. Atlanta Falcons forced to used silent count at home against Chicago - ESPN |

I read they had to call a time out because of the noise. IN THEIR OWN STADIUM.
That's just funny. Whatta franchise. |

The announcers explained it as, "Bear fans travel well", ... can it be any more embarrassing being a Failclown fan? Melty Ice was rocking the ol' "deer-in-the-headlights" look pretty well on national camera also,.

I really wouldn't know if they used a silent count before, but I have been to several Saints games and one Steeler game when it was really, really loud, esp on Falcons' third down.
