He gone ... bye, :D.

Taking his talent to South Beach, good for him.

I've been predicting this since 2011 and knew when his sister moved last October it was a done deal. He simply didn't want to be in Detroit and I'm glad now the team can stop kissing his overly large, narcissistic ass trying to retain him. He's an individual playing a team sport. I'd much rather have the cap space.

As for the speculation that Detroit's #2 defensive ranking will suffer, let's not forget that ranking was built on an extremely weak strength-of-schedule with over half of their opponents finishing .500 or less ... and you'll notice, the good teams/offenses had no problems putting up points/yds on the Lions #2 defense, Kyle Orton & Drew Stanton threw for 300yds vs Suh's awesome pass rushing technique, for crissake, ... yeah, Kyle Orton & Drew Stanton. They weren't a legitimate #2 in the first place.
Before Suh:
- the Lions hadn't won a SuperBowl
- weren't contenders
- had problems beating + .500 teams
- finished 6-10, 4-12, 7-9
With Suh:
- the Lions didn't win a SuperBowl
- weren't contenders
- had problems beating + .500 teams
- finished 6-10, 4-12, 7-9
Without Suh:
- the Lions won't win a SuperBowl
- won't be contenders
- will have problems beating + .500 teams
- will finish 6-10, 4-12, 7-9

Absolutely nothing changes. The guy is not an "impact player", he's not a "game changer", he doesn't instantly make a team a "contender" On average he made approx. 3-4 plays per game (tackles, sacks, assists) ... none of them at a critical times or that impacted the outcome of a game. It's 2015, defensive tackles don't win football games.

The guy's a myth and the product of media hype and I am so glad he's gone ... no more drama, WooHoo!! :)

Not a fan. I don't follow the lions, but seems like most of his "highlights" over the last few years were personal fouls.

Tip o' the iceburg, my friend ... tip o' the iceburg, ... makes me vomit when I hear members of the media (and slappies) compare him to the likes of Reggie White (18 sacks, 130+ tackles at the time he went free agent compared to Suh's 8.5 sacks and something like 50 tackles). There's no comparison and not a single Suh-slappy has ever been able to defend that argument with anything more than, "duh, well he does stuff out there that you really can't see but if you knew football you'd know what I'm talking about, duh" ... cracks me up,.

He's an $8 - $12million a year guy all day long, he's big, he's strong, he can be mean & nasty, but he played well below his potential in Detroit ... a player of his talent should be getting double-digit sacks and 100+ tackles every season, IMO ... I don't care what position or role in the defense he's playing.

Maybe the sun & bikinis will help bring out the best in him, :).

Actually Suh had 180 tackles and 36 sacks for the Lions over his career there. The stats you meantion are for the 2014 season.

White had 124 sacks in his 8 years with Philadelphia. And the 68,5 more with the Packers in 6 seasons. 5,5 with the Panthers his last year in the league. On average 13,2 sacks per year over his whole career. A darn good average.

However I don't think you really can't compare the two since Suh plays DT and White played end. Suh averages 7,2 sacks per year for his five years in Detroit. I have to say that's a pretty decent average from the DT position.

Throughout the whole process Suh was unavailable to talk/comment, didn't have an agent, then had an agent but was leaving the decision up to him, et ... the fans kissed his ass & the FO made plenty of overtures ... the opportunity was there if he had truly wanted to stay ... good businessman though, he (or his agents) did manage to wrangle two of the best contracts in NFL history, #shrug.

Yes, I know. I took the stats from Suh's free agency year vs White's free agency year in an attempt to compare apples-to-apples because that's the general comparison that was being made by the media. 180 tackles/36 sacks over a five-year period (36 tackles/7 sacks avg.) doesn't really help his case any (IMO) for a guy that was supposed to be such a "dominant" force.

I personally don't tend to compare DE's to DT's either, it's just in response to the boobs in the media who like to overhype/sensationalize everything by comparing Suh to Reggie White. The thought that Suh was ever as good as White had never crossed my mind before that,.

I agree 100% he's a decent, average-above average DT, and that's as far as I'll ever go down that path. My problem is with the way the guy is overrated & overpaid, though now he's Miami's problem, :). I watched every single snap the guy took with the Lions and his production/value to the team just didn't match the hype/paycheck, #shrug.

He gone, bye. :)
