3 strikes? This gotta be it for Mr. Smith.

Prime example of why character is important when evaluating players.

Hits to the 49ers just keep on coming... Starting to feel sorry for Tomsula and the ****ty head coach situation he found himself in

Yep, it's probably why Harbaugh deserted when he realized he couldn't control the mob anymore, #shrug ... couldn't happen to a nicer team or set of fans, IMO.

Harbaugh was playing Dr. Frankenstein. He created the monster but couldn't control it. At least Dr. F stayed to try and protect his monster. Harbaugh, the whiner that he is, just packed up and ran.

I thought Oakland was the NFL prison camp.

If he can still play football, then he ain't done. I heard Bomani Jones this evening talking about the specific incident, and what little we actually know about the circumstances. He even compared Smith to Gallette, saying Junior's situation/character issues were a lot worse (referring to the video of him whipping a woman with a belt).

I seem to recall Smith turning things around after Mike Singletary was fired. Sometimes the right/wrong environment means everything. So, you never know...

It's going to get to the point where if the 49ers simply offer a contract to a player, they will retire or commit a crime just to avoid having to speak to that team. Soon the '9ers will be extinct.

But hey, maybe if they're lucky people will dig up their bones one day and try to figure out what happened to them, just like they do with dinosaurs... Nah, dinosaurs are way more interesting.

Meh, his coaching style is far more suited to college anyway, the Dr. Frankenstein analogy is a pretty darn good one though,. Go Blue!

Yeah, it's gonna' have to play out, but I'm really kind of surprised how NFL has been reacting to this stuff and taking a stand ... years past, they would never have released a player under any circumstances short of imprisonment ... now, it's up to the 1% of players to get the message and act accordingly ... but you're right, if he can buckle on his pads there will undoubtedly be a roster spot for him somewhere.

That's right, blame it on a woman,.

Maybe he should sign with a less dysfunctional team, say, the Redskins?

They've got a guy that could crack the belt...
