The goal was to punish Brady and RG can still do that by appealing. Having to go back during the season, good way to deliver some pain.

I want to read the judge's ruling....

I wonder if he found "it is more probable than not", the commissioner and league office needs assistance to increase their reading comprehension.

I did find the judges 40-page decision...

And the Idiot in the Commissioner's Office wants to appeal the decision to vacate the Brady suspension...

How many $$$ are the Owners/Management Council going to allow to be WASTED on the stupidity of the current discipline process they implemented before FIXING IT?

Goodell: We disagree with the decision and will appeal | ProFootballTalk

Hours after Judge Richard Berman vacated Tom Brady’s four-game suspension, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell released a statement saying the league disagrees with Berman’s ruling and will appeal.

“We are grateful to Judge Berman for hearing this matter, but respectfully disagree with today’s decision,” the statement said. “We will appeal today’s ruling in order to uphold the collectively bargained responsibility to protect the integrity of the game. The commissioner’s responsibility to secure the competitive fairness of our game is a paramount principle, and the league and our 32 clubs will continue to pursue a path to that end. While the legal phase of this process continues, we look forward to focusing on football and the opening of the regular season.”

An appeal could take a long time, so this is far from over. In fact, it’s entirely possible that if the NFL wins the appeal, it will be several months from now — and Brady will be suspended for four games in 2016.

Brady is a cheater. There is no way that he was unaware of the balls being too low on air. However, I am glad that Godhell got smacked in the face.

I've never been a big conspiracy guy. But, Goddell got a loss. That makes all fans and all players happy. The NFL's golden boy got a win. That makes most fans and most players happy. Just my opinion.

I guess some people will be happy that Goodell lost, but I don't care about that. I'm beyond irritated that Brady gets nothing, despite acting as guilty as one possibly could, and never cooperating. Yet we got the worst punishment in NFL history, despite the fact that nothing was hidden and all so-called evidence was a bunch of rhetorical nonsense. Nothing in games ever backed up the accusations. The same cannot be said for Brady and the Pats.

The reason Brady got nothing is again on Goodell. Brady was willing to accept a one-game suspension, which was probably appropriate for the crime. Goodell was not willing to negotiate the punishment in good faith, instead insisting on an admission of guilt from Brady when he had absolutely no proof of wrongdoing on Brady's part.

The judge just let Roger know how inconsistent, absurd & stupid his disciplinary policies are. No 'breaking news' there, #shrug.

In related news, out of the blue the other day I got a huge, long rambling Facebook message from an old friend of mine that I hadn't heard from in YEARS, who is a Boston native and a Pats fan. The gist of his long and rambling message: "Hey, I remember what happened to you guys, I do remember what you said about Goodell at the time, I remember how you howled and tried to warn us about that guy, and I know how I kinda blew you off, I didn't really come to your defense....but man oh man, I realize now that you guys were RIGHT about him, you got royally screwed by this guy. What Goodell is doing is completely ridiculous."

Pretty amazing rambling message, from a Pats guy who is the type who NEVER ever concedes anything.

Re: Brady suspension nullified...Goodell Loses

With this ruling and the PR disaster that discipline has been over several years I wonder how many owners have the thoughts that appear to be in the FailClown owner's mind.

The Falcons' Owner Seems Pretty Fed Up With Roger Goodell

Blank talked to the Atlanta Journal Constitution about Goodell, and did that thing bosses are so good at doing: smuggle a finger wag into what appears to be a compliment:

“It’s not healthy for the NFL to be in the kind of litigious position that it’s been for last several years,” Blank said. “I think that the commissioner is working hard to hold up the respect and integrity of the game, the competitive balance of the game and the shield. Having said that, I think we have to find ways to get to a better place sooner with the NFLPA than the process that we’ve gone through.”

It would take the owners to make any changes to make this PR nightmare coming out of several courts to change the "Law of the shop".

And to add to this, its Goodell fault as well for choosing Wells to do the investigation and expect anyone with a brain to not see the conflict of interest.
It was on the NFL to prove Brady guilty. They failed and now they gonna waste more time and money on an appeal to get to hear the same thing again.

Well yeah, everyone agrees that Roger hasn't handled it well as usual. My point was that Brady made himself look as guilty as he possibly could. There wasn't 100% conclusive proof, but the circumstantial evidence was pretty obvious. Brady's behavior toward any attempt to get info out of him made it more obvious.

Was the crime worth 4 games? I never thought so. But he's getting nothing. We cooperated during the whole "bountygate" crap, and the supposed evidence were pieces of paper stating imaginary rewards for hurting players... None of those targeted players were actually hurt in the games. It was obvious rhetoric, and yet we lost our coach for the entire year, a couple players for half the season and lost draft picks.

That's my beef. We haven't learned anything new about Roger Goodell in this process. I want to know where the legal system was for the Saints.

Oh yeah, I understand your frustration and agree with quite a few of your points. I was pretty pissed off about the raw deal NO got as well. Other than Vilma, if I remember correctly, the system did fail the Saints, but more so because they accepted Roger's edict rather then elevate the issue, unlike Brady. "People do to you what you let them". IDK, maybe the bounty issue was too big & had too many moving parts for the Saints to adequately mount a legal defense, but I wish they had. I don't want to rehash all that,.

My main point remains that Brady got nothing because of Roger's pride, which I hope is going before his fall, as they said in biblical times.

Personally, I think Brady, as well as any other professional QB, instructs his staff to inflate/deflate the balls to their individual preference. Probably why Peyton Manning refused to comment on the whole thing. This was the Indianapolis Colts being petty little biotches, IMO.

As for the cellphone thing, I've cleared data, removed sim cards, batteries, et ... on every cellphone I've disposed off, so I'm not going to fault a celebrity for doing that. Only in the court of Roger Goodell can you convict on circumstantial evidence, #shrug.

At the end of the day, I'm just glad RG was exposed and I know we agree on that. :)
