Pierre Thomas to work out for Chiefs
Ben Tate won’t be the only veteran running back coming in to Kansas City for a look in the wake of Jamaal Charles’s knee injury.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Chiefs will also have former Saints tailback Pierre Thomas in for a workout this week. Thomas was released by the Saints in March in a cap move and has had his name come up in conjunction with a few teams in the last six months. When Arian Foster had groin surgery this summer, there were reports that Thomas would sign with Houston but the two sides never came to an agreement. Thomas spent eight years in New Orleans and was a valuable piece as both a runner and receiver over that span for the Saints. He never produced at the same level as Charles, but the Chiefs aren’t going to find that kind of a player under any rock and Thomas’s receiving skills could be particularly appealing now that Charles is out of the picture. I wonder if he'll be the starter if he signs.

Thomas still has gas in his tank. I think this would be a good fit.

KC is in a bad situation with Charles out. PT will do good by them if he signs.
