Roger Goodell says the NFL will 'likely' expand playoffs at some point
 

During a meeting with Jacksonville Jaguars season ticket holders over the weekend, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said the league will "likely" expand the playoffs in the future.

"It will likely happen at some point," Goodell said of playoff expansion, via the Jaguars' official site. "But we want to be really cautious because we really like the balance we have with the importance of the regular season and the postseason.

as long as there is a buck to be had the game itself is of no concern.

Might as well start giving every player a trophy of participation; don't want to hurt anyone's feelings... Roger is a business man and has no place in charge of a game he has no clue about

The NFL is not a game, it's a business.

Not that I appreciate Goodell, not at all... but let's at least keep it real.

I was poking fun at the fact that the NFL is getting like Pee Wee with the resemblance of more/everyone participates.

Edit: Godhell can mismanage the NFL but the owners don't mind if he's making them money. Has anybody else noticed that Godhell has been low profile since his last public relations fiasco?

I agree with Mitch. It really takes away from the game and does not add to it. Wild card ,as it is, is the chance game. A team can ,at least , get in at the wild card level with an 8-8 season or even 7-9, depending on what happens in that team's division. It will water down the playoffs. A team is in the playoffs. So what! What team is not in the playoffs. Playoffs will be just an extension of the regular season.
