Mike Tirico leaving Monday Night Football
That's a shame, he's easily my favourite announcer around today.
Now we get to "look forward" to more Joe Buck, Troy Aikman or cris collingsworthless.....sigh Mike Tirico leaving ESPN for NBC, report says | NOLA.com Mike Tirico, who has been a stalwart on ESPN for 25 years and has served as the lead play-by-play announcer on "MNF" since 2006, is leaving the network for NBC, Sports Business Daily reported Monday afternoon. NBC refused to comment on the move, according to the report. The network recently acquired the rights to broadcast a five Thursday night NFL games. The report says Tirico, 49, will stay on at ESPN until his contract expires this summer. |
Re: Mike Tirico leaving Monday Night Football
I can't stand Tirico's style. He's got a really stiff delivery, and when he tries to sound excited, it comes across as being really forced. I'm sure most announcer excitement is fake, but when it sounds that obvious it's kind of annoying.
I'd say that I'm glad he's leaving ESPN, if it weren't for the fact that now he's just going to make NBC worse than it already is. |
Re: Mike Tirico leaving Monday Night Football
Tirico was the lesser of a lot of evils on MNF.
