Hacker posts bogus statement on Goodell dying
The NFL’s official Twitter account was hacked today with a bogus statement that Commissioner Roger Goodell had died.
The fake tweet said, “We regret to inform our fans that our commissioner, Roger Goodell, has passed away. He was 57. #RIP.” The NFL quickly confirmed that Goodell is alive and well and that the league’s Twitter account was hacked. A spokesman told PFT that the league is currently looking into the matter. Although the NFL deleted the bogus tweet, it didn’t stop the hacker from posting a second tweet reading, “Oi, I said Roger Goodell has died. Don’t delete that tweet.” That was followed by a third tweet saying, “OK, OK, you amateur detectives win. Good job.” read more |
Re: Hacker posts bogus statement on Goodell dying
Best post of the year, hands down. This even made my wife laugh. Some of the comments at the bottom of the article are good too. The top one reads "This is the best press Goodell has had in years." Priceless.

Not cool.
I'm sure he has family and friends who were probably hurt by this, or more specifically by the classless comments following. |

Re: Hacker posts bogus statement on Goodell dying
Jeez, you guys are making a mountain out of a mole hill. He's not dead, no one threatened him (well, plenty of people have threatened him) no sensitive information was compromised. No big deal.
