Scheduled division trends that point to a sb.
 

Let's look at the most recent divisions played no more than two years....
who the sb winners have played in said season-NFC North two seasons(NE in 2014, this year Dallas)....AFC North one season(Denver, this year NE)
who the sb winners played the next season-AFC South one season(next year Pittsburgh)....NFC South one season(next year NE)
who the sb losers have played in said season-AFC South one season(this year GB and KC)
who the sb losers have played the next season-AFC west one season(next season NE and Dallas).....NFC West one(next season Dallas)
....there has been some other trend, the seahawks played both north divisions and Carolina both west divisions.

AFC East-AFC West and NFC South
NFC East-AFC West and NFC West(!)
AFC North-AFC South and NFC North
NFC North-AFC North and NFC South
AFC South-AFC North and NFC West
NFC South-AFC East and NFC North
AFC West-AFC East and NFC East(!)
NFC West-AFC South and NFC East

Dallas and KC stick out here. But I don't see Dallas getting there and barely can see KC getting there.

Trends tend to last just three years as far as sb participants and winners go as it's been that way for a while. So I am not counting current trends of that length such as sb loser playing NFC East(which if continued rules Pittsburgh and GB out).

Individually, the last three sb winners have gone to Indy. This year that's KC and Pittsburgh.

The funny thing is in all these trends not a single one favors Atlanta but there is always a first.

Here is one trend I will research on...conference championship losers.

This actually goes on since 2009 on the AFC front(each division taking turns). In 2011, SF played AFC North. In 2010, Chicago played East. On the NFC front, there's more stalling but since 2007. In 2011, SF played NFC East, and Chicago played NFC East in 10. Minnesota played NFC West in 09 and Philadelphia in 08 played them.

Who played the AFC West and NFC West this year? Atlanta.

I don't remember the trend I did last year before the conference title games. It was more numbers based. I will go back and look to see what I can gather.
