Can Newton Shoulda Put A Sock In It...

Re: Can Newton Shoulda Put A Sock In It...
She might have made Cam feel threatened.
Cam always needs to be the prettiest queen in the room. |
Re: Can Newton Shoulda Put A Sock In It...
“Cam, I know you take a lot of pride in seeing your receivers play well,” Rodrigue said. “Devin Funchess has seemed to really embrace the physicality of his routes and getting those extra yards. Does that give you a little bit of enjoyment to see him kind of truck sticking people out there?”
Newton was smirking while Rodrigue asked the question, and he made a totally inappropriate comment before answering. “It’s funny to hear a female talk about routes. It’s funny,” Newton said, before then giving some thoughts about Funchess growing as a receiver. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DLU06zLVoAE9jSt.jpg https://twitter.com/erincofiell/stat...self-373488%2F |
Re: Can Newton Shoulda Put A Sock In It...
So is anyone here really surprised at that coming from Cam.

So the one time he is actually dressed semi-normal in a press con he actually acts more weird.

Re: Can Newton Shoulda Put A Sock In It...

Cam is who we thought he is. A clown. Says and does a lot of wrong. He's simply not a bright guy. He makes it easy for people not to like him.
No class. |
Re: Can Newton Shoulda Put A Sock In It...
Damn. He is getting butchered this morning on NFL Network and rightly so. Even given a chance to apologized he only implied that he regretted saying what he said. No ****, Sherlock! He regrets it because he had his ass chewed out by Panthers' management and the league itself. He doesn't regret it personally because that is truly how he feels. Nate Burleson (former NFL player) said there is a difference between being an elite athlete and being elitist and that what Newton did was being an elitist and is unforgivable.

Re: Can Newton Shoulda Put A Sock In It...
So unnecessary by Cam. The rest of the answer is all right but why add that crap?

Re: Can Newton Shoulda Put A Sock In It...
 |
Re: Can Newton Shoulda Put A Sock In It...
I took it as he’s around women who don’t want to talk football and it was funny to run across a woman who’s knowledgeable about the sport enough to talk about route running and the concepts behind them; but he should have known how the media would take it and he should have apologized and explained himself just for the sake of public relations.

Re: Can Newton Shoulda Put A Sock In It...
I literally have no idea why he thought it was a funny....
A question about his WR maturing and being physical going across the middle, and he starts giggling and spews out some sexist nonsense. I hope this does turn into a mountain because I can't stand the guy. |

It's what happens when you are "trained" to act a certain way; instead of learning the "why" you should act and say (or not say) certain things.
He most likely just let his guard down and said what was on his mind without thinking. |
Re: Can Newton Shoulda Put A Sock In It...
Of course this is not a big deal and IT IS funny hearing a female attempt to pretend like she understands footballs techniques. That reporter doesnt know the first thing about route running. She has no idea what her question even means. Id love to ask her what she means by embracing the physicality of routes. What does that even mean? You can be physical with the ball or blocking but route running other than releasing from the line isnt very physical at all. Michael Irving embraced the physicality of pushing off in his routes. Is that what she meant?

Re: Can Newton Shoulda Put A Sock In It...
Welp, he just lost his deal w/ Dannon. That's gonna hurt.

Re: Can Newton Shoulda Put A Sock In It...
Well I totally understand his response, I just don't think it was a very good idea is all. LOL

Re: Can Newton Shoulda Put A Sock In It...
Don't like the Cam Newton pouty persona, towel over the head thing...
Really didn't like him after his early Freshman offenses at Florida with no consequences... Nor do I care for the talking head media anointing him when he hasn't won a Superbowl... Newton can't hit the side of a barn in a pro-set, though he can chunk it a country mile... That said, I can't be a hypocrite; I thought his statement to be honest, funny, and real... There are far more egregious offenses like (i.e. assault, battery on women) that are worse on my scale... And it seems political correctness has more value to the NFL, NFLPA and the Fat Cat Sponsors - and that really just befuddles me... |
Re: Can Newton Shoulda Put A Sock In It...
Scam Newton. Never liked him. No class cry baby.

HATING CAM NEWTON In order to hate something, you have to experience the lowest level of human emotions, fear. Since Cam is such a game changer, he is easy for Saints fans to hate because of a fear of him being a game changer. If you say you have no fear of him, then you only dislike him or don't agree with him... BUT CONSIDER... All of us can agree to love Cam Newton. I love to see him lose, suffer and make an A$$ out of himself. LOL ;) In that case I cherish him the most. Cam is a very interesting player whether you like him or not. :hallucinate: |
Re: Can Newton Shoulda Put A Sock In It...
The problem with this is I don't think what he said had to have been sexist. It could have definitely been purposely or inadvertently sexist.. yet he could have meant it an entirely different way at the same time. The problem with feminism and the thing that in general annoys me about the movement is that it always assumes the worst when it comes to men, often it could give a **** about equality, and completely neglects the fact that men have their own host of issues as well. I mean there is a legit reason that the male suicide rate is a crap ton higher than that of women... and it has a lot to do with how society is defined and the expectations that are placed. I'm all for female equality, I consent that there are quite a few sexist douchebags in the world. I just feel at times the goal of reaching equality and the actual actions to achieving this don't seem to match at times.
