What are the Redskins doing?! This might be one of the worst trades that we’ve seen in quite some time.

Forget Alex for a second ....

Kirk Cousins will receive a ridiculous contract. I could see him landing in Jacksonville or Denver. The bidding war could escalate.

Best of luck to Alex though. He was good last season for the Chiefs.

With $103 million in cap space the Browns could have one heck of an exciting offseason. Imagine if they pulled off the miracle and landed Kirk Cousins as well as having the 1st and 4th overall picks in the draft. But then again, Browns are gonna Browns lol.

domino effect - potentially 6 QB's could go in the first round, but a few just dropped substantially
5 of the top 10 teams won't be drafting QB's, and if one of them signs Cousins (very likely), guys like Jackson and Rudolph will drop

Wait... we play the Redskins next season. Now they have Alex Smith and Vernon Davis.

Washington will be Washington. Shooting themselves in the foot, reloading and then doing it again. The big mistake they did a couple of years back is not giving Cousins a longer contract when he could be had for a cheaper price.

Alex Smith is a good QB, much better than he gets credit for but he is at the tail end of his career. Cousins could have well over a decade left and while he is no Brees or Brady I'd say he is in the second tier of quarterbacks in the leauge.

From Chief to Redskin?

What are the odds?

Cousins is not going to the Browns. He wants to win. Going there is a death sentence.

Re: Alex Smith a Redskin.

Once he got going with the 49ers, they went from near the bottom to being perpetually in the playoff conversation, top of their division, and made the playoffs and Super Bowl (he won the games that got them there). Then when he was with the Chiefs, they were always contenders, in the hunt and near the top of their division, nearly every year with the team. In a division with the Eagles and Dak, and a declining (or gone) Eli Manning, this signing makes perfect sense. Sure the Redskins will probably find a way to screw this up, but Smith knows how to win games. He certainly showed us that at Candlestick in 2012! I'm interested to see what he does.

Cousins had no weapons. So many dropped passes this season. Pryor lead the league in defending passes; to himself! Then the rest of them same thing, Crowder fumbling, dropping easy dumps. I feel bad for Cousins. He is actually a fine QB. I would love to have him but I know it will not happen. Strong arm, accurate and at least another 8 years or so.

Washington is a mess, as long as Danny owns the team they always will be.
There is a weird Sonny Jurgensen QB approval thing going on there and Cousins is just another victim.

I read the Skins could consider "tagging" Cousins a third time. That would give Kirk a 44% raise from his 2016 salary under terms of tag 2.

WTH is Snyder doing up there?

they would be on the hook for 34.5 mill, AND Cousins would have to sign it before he got traded

they couldn't possibly be that dumb
