PFT: Lane Johnson: Chip Kelly focused too much on sports science, not enough on football
This is where some of these draft practices by Sean Payton gives me pause...

But tater Chip wasn't that good of a NFL football coach to begin with. I seriously questioned his ability as Captain when he started cutting valuable pieces on offense & defense.
Hellava job by Philly to turn that franchise around (SB title) in a very short time after tater chip was fired. The only comparisons I see with Chip and Sean is that they both like to wear visors on game day. SP is quite possibly still the best play caller & offensive evaluator (see Kamara/Mike Thomas) in all of football. Visionary. |

Side note - keep an eye on what Curtis Johnson will do with TreQuan (deceptive speed) & Meredith in 2018. Both of these cats can high point a football.

My point is that you can get too caught up in the analytics and forget that the exam (player evaluation) also has a subjective component... And that's what gives me pause is that Payton comes out with all these crazy BS excuses after he continues to over-reach in drafts... |

Lane Johnson is outspoken it seems. As really heard a lot of players in the Eagle saying that Kelly was a cancer in the locker room not just that of in the playing field.
