Can't have contracts with the military for recruiting ads saluting the flag and the actual program protesting it. Pick a side but the NFL can't stand on a fence. They went with the revenue. Wise man choice.

Could have just done it at halftime. Now there will be stats and more drama on why players were not out there. The goal was to remove the drama. It's still there.

The NFL can have The Pledge said at START of game BEFORE players from either team get out on the field.
Have the pledge said and National Anthem sung BEFORE teams come out.
Next, introduce teams.
No protesting.
No media hype .
No uncomfortable situations for fans because some people cross eye and roll eyes at people for those players as if fans can do anything about it.
Fans who want to sit, eat, fine.
No one cares about you.
No teams locking arms with team owners .
No players saying the pledge and then hand of support on the kneelers.
I am like, WTF is that about.
