They had a season last year that pretty much mirrored our 7-9 seasons note for note.

Their defense just completely collapsed and they were blown the hell out in a number of games with embarrassingly bad defensive play. They also had some close losses in shoot out games where they could've easily pulled out (including the loss to Cincy where they were in complete control and slipped. Reminded me of our loss to Detroit in 2014.)

Remember when we fans used to blame all those big losses on injuries and not having a healthy team?

They even crawled up to a .500 record like we would do in those years, only to get beaten soundly by a team (Cleveland) in a game they were heavy favorites (Happened to us in 2014, 2015 and 2016).

It took us 3 years to get back to the playoffs and we had to completely overhaul the roster. I am sure the Falcons will give us a good run when we play them in the regular season, but I believe they are far from being a contender again.
