Sorry to hear that. My dad used to praise his ability on the gridiron from back in the day.

If you have time, check out the HBO documentary (I believe it's on Netflix now) titled 'The Many Lives of Nick Buoniconti'. It highlights Nick's playing career, that undefeated 70's Dolphin's team, his broadcasting career and most importantly his son Marc who was left as a paraplegic while playing ball at The Citadel. To date, his charity "The Miami Project Cure Paralysis" has raised over 400M dollars.

He was a good man and will be missed.

I have a soft spot for that Dolphins team, as well as their 1973 team that don't get much credit.

Their defensive performance in the 1972 SB was legendary. Even though the final score was close, that game felt like a blow out and would've been if not for the turnovers and missed field goals. Washington only crossed the 50 yard twice and both times, it ended with a turnover.

RIP Buoniconti, great player and a good man indeed. Will be missed.
