The 53 official releases by the Brooklyn indie imprint Woodsist range from lo-fi but pop-minded rockers like Kurt Vile and Nodzzz to the flashlight-lit witch trials of Pocahaunted and whatever you want to call what Excepter does. Naturally, they also include the label's namesake, Woods, whose branching oeuvre reads like a glossary of Woodsist's cassette-taped, outre-folk origins ? at the same time stretching those original parameters like the walls of a womb.?
