Formed in Seattle in the late '80s, Earth was conceived and incubated in the city's burgeoning punk and grunge scenes. But by the early '90s it rendered its own musical universe, championed by the band's guitarist Dylan Carlson, whose home recordings and experiments gave birth to Earth's droning, doom-laden and metal-influenced sonic palettes, filled with static hum and endlessly ringing deep notes.?
