New Orleans dubbed a "Bicycle Friendly" city
The League of American Bicyclists today announced the recipients of its 2011 Bicycle Friendly Community designations. New Orleans was among 11 cities added to the list for the first time, including Omaha, Neb., Saint Paul, Minn., and Santa Fe, N.M. Bill Nesper, director of the League?s Bicycle Friendly America program, says the organization is "especially pleased to see so many communities improving their award level.?

Do NOT get me started on the bicycle thing. People who ride bicycles on streets made for cars are asking for it. They are arrogant and think the rules of the road do not apply to them.

I believe it's more about the economy than about becoming bicycle friendly. Riding a bike in New Orleans (having done it), is rolling the dice. Epic Fail from the League of American Bicyclists on that one.
