Kakkoii Japanese Bistreaux opens Uptown

There?s no lack of Japanese restaurants around Uptown, but to my knowledge a newcomer on Maple Street is our first ?Japanese bistreaux.? That would be Kakkoii Japanese Bistreaux, which opened on Maple Street late in August.


The menu has the standard array of rolls, Japanese appetizers and teriyaki and noodle dishes but it also makes room for offbeat numbers like fish tacos with tempura-battered whitefish and pickled cucumbers and ?monki ribs,? which are baby back ribs with a sweet Japanese-style barbecue glaze.?
