Jindal orders task force to examine school safety

You never hear about incidents like Columbine, Virginia Tech or Sandy Hook happening at urban schools, despite the high crime rates in the communities surrounding these schools. Why is that? The entire country needs to slow down a bit and take a look at the security measures that have long been used to protect students in urban districts with great success.

Metal detectors, backpack checks and security guards, armed or unarmed ... take your pick and according to the preference of local school authorities.

It just seems like a no-brainer to me.
