The Old Arabi Sugar Museum opens in St. Bernard Parish
The Old Arabi Sugar Museum (220 Hernandez St., Arabi, 504-278-4242; www.facebook.com/sugarmuseum)*celebrated its grand opening yesterday with a ribbon cutting and lots of cotton candy provided by Wings of Fun. The museum, located in what was once the Old Arabi Jail, was created by*The SoFAB Institute and the St. Bernard Office of Tourism*as a way to share St. Bernard Parish's history in the sugar industry.
