Canal Place to screen Martin Scorsese's The Last Waltz
 

Director Martin Scorsese set a high bar for concert films in 1978 with The Last Waltz, a film documenting the final show by roots-rock stalwarts The Band. The seven-camera shoot was achieved with help from some of the finest cinematographers in film history, including Vilmos Zsigmond (McCabe and Mrs. Miller), Michael Chapman (Raging Bull), and Laszlo Kovacs (Easy Rider).?
