The Krewe du Kanaval, a new Carnival collaboration between Preservation Hall and Arcade Fire's Win Butler and Regine Chassagne, marched today in Treme and the French Quarter to bring a touch of Haiti to New Orleans' Mardi Gras celebration.*Chassagne, who has Haitian heritage, and the other musicians called the concert and parade "a mobile music event, a community, and a celebration of Haiti and the diaspora of cultures that have enriched New Orleans? identity and arts for hundreds of years,"
