Report: Pelicans Players Aren't 'Vibing' with Stan Van Gundy; 'There's Issues There'

The relationship between New Orleans Pelicans head coach Stan Van Gundy and the rest of the team isn't ideal after a disappointing 31-41 season.

Exactly. Thought it was a bad hire from Day 1. Stan won't last long as Pelicans HC. Tyrone Lue & Mark Jackson were better options in my opinion. Even Mike Dantoni' for that matter.

Heard a sportscaster the other day ask why the Pelicans ever fired Monty Williams. I'd take him back quick like.

AD and the rest of that injury prone roster got him fired...Jrue Holiday included.

Then maybe he deserved it. It's his job to manage.

Pelicans problems run deeper than HC, IMHO. There's plenty history of former players thriving elsewhere, even role players.

It's a different game now, IMHO. Pat Riley and Spolstra aren't the same team from the championship teams. And there's a bit of game fixing now in how the refs call games, very much like how Tampa Bay's defense was allowed to mug WRs during last year's SB run.

Van Gundy is old school …

I would have preferred a more relatable coach for these younger guys.
