A league source said Thursdsay night the Hornets are close to an agreement with Toronto shooting guard Morris Peterson.

Negotiations also continue with backup point guard Jannero Pargo, who is receiving interest from the Nets. It looked like Peterson was headed to Utah, and he still may be, but the Hornets are clearly in the running for his services. One thing is clear, and that's that Peterson won't be back with the Raptors this season. "Mo was frustrated with his role (last season), but handled himself like a true professional," Raptors' GM Bryan Colangelo said. "We wish him the best."
