Can the Hornets make a nice run
 

We are playing alot better in the last 2 months. We traded D Brown for a Center. It looks like they are playing a lot better. Any thoughts?

I mean I think we can make a run at the playoffs, but I don't think we'd make any noise if we got there. Besides Paul, our team lacks any sort of consistency. David West just isn't the same David West we saw of years past and I think we should consider moving him. Amare is on the block and I think if we could swing West for him, even though he's probably not going to re-sign, it will help our chances significantly if we make the playoffs. Should he leave afterward, it'll free up significant cap room for the big upcoming free agent season. A deal with the Suns would not be one-sided either as they'll be picking up a two time All Star that could rejuvenate himself in that high octane offense.

Without another playmaker preferably a solid 2 guard, the Hornets will continue to be a mediocre team to a playoff team at best who solely relies on CP3. You can only pick and roll basketball with CP3 & West so much. Also I would like to see West bang more instead of shoot so many jumpers. I think we're missing that one playmaker that will push us over that hump. I don't forsee them making a trade for one or really pursuing one this offseason because we are still over the cap.

I see Darren is turning out the be a good quality backup. Hornets pulled it off. Maybe when CP3 comes back they can sneak in the playoffs.

That was a helluva game last night against the Magic. West had a monster game with 40pts. At first I was nervous because D. Howard was scoring at will but Aaron Gray provided a good defensive boost against Howard because he was KILLING Okafor. DC made some big plays down the stretch and Thornton had another solid game. If we can keep it up, we might be able to sneak into the 8th spot. It's a log jam now between the 7th - 9th place teams in the West. Lose 2 and u're out of the playoffs.

well ...they don't suck as bad as other teams ... Byron wouldn't play young talent... and we gave away some talent ... so Byron is not completely at fault ... they could use a lottery pick to complement CP3 ...


But to answer your question, B_Dub, in a word...... NO! They won't pull it off.

But what if they got King James, they would still need more players that suck less than some of the ones they got now.

Uhhh...no. Ironically I was living in SoCal when Pete passed away while playing a pick-up basketball game at a church in Pasadena, CA. He was taken to St. Luke hospital. It just so happened that I serviced a CT scanner there. Weird.

If my memory serves me correct, he had just taken a break and had told a friend right before they started playing again that he felt great. Then he collapsed from a heart attack or heart failure...something like that. It seems he had a defect of the heart that had previously been undetected.

new orleans didnt have a home team until the hornets came......so everybody that likes the hornets are bandwagon fans too..just for a different reason

Nice win against the Lakers last night. I think had CP3 not been out hurt the Hornet could have made a push for a playoff spot. DC, CP3, Thornton!! Looks promising for next season.
