Same product every playoff trip.

Bears nearly beat us.

The Cook INT is a better argument, but it was still a bad choice as Cook was in trip-coverage...

I get it hurts, Bro, but Brees was done a couple seasons ago...

Announcing it pre-game was BS, and it makes you really question motivations there...

Isn't this the last year of Cook's contract?

We are going to have to shed a lot of talent this off-season. Don’t expect to be back to the playoffs for five or more years.

Goodbye Drew. Love ya man.

I’m no lip reader, but I’m fairly certain at the end there when Drew was talking to Jameis he pointed and said “This is your team.”

When we only scored 6 those two first drives, I knew it wasn’t gonna go right. It had 2018 nfccg written all over it

Nah, he would have told Taysom that, they are like best friends. He’s not going to come out and overtly say Taysom ain’t got what it takes.

Buch of crybabies never seen such a spoiled fanbase, If Fans had any effect on the game I see why we lost. If the Saints dont play perfect fire everybody

So Drew retires and we have 11.5m in dead cap next year?

Lots of people about to find out just how spoiled we are.

I literally said that too in the chat. It had the exact same formula as the last few playoff trips.

Settling for FG's in the redzone.
D playing strong and keeping us in it.
Offensive turnovers then come in bunches.

This loss is a tough one because for the first time in a long time the future is so uncertain. Not sure if we blow the team up and start rebuilding or if they keep trying with this defense and see if someone like Winston or Hill can be enough.

Wouldn't be surprised to see us sign Winston as a bridge for the qb we take in the draft and Taysom keeps his role.

Just prepare yourself for it unless we can trade for Watson or Stafford.

I’m ready for Winston. Honestly I’m ready for anyone but Drew. Drew was great and deserved all the praise in the world, but he should have retired 2 years ago.

Winston has been sitting behind Drew and learning the offense for some time. He should be the guy, Hill had a shot and showed he isn’t a legit QB. I think this team could be good with Winston and Hill as a gadget. The problem will be retaining enough good players to be competitive. We are truly in a cap hell unlike we’ve seen before.

The toughest thing about this loss is no one Saint really stepped up in the 4th quarter. We just fell apart. It was a contrast from the Chiefs, where Mahomes went out and Kelce, Hill, Darrel Williams and others carried the load.

We need to nail this next draft. Major tons of talent available. We can't get outdrafted this year and fall behind.

Either 22.65ml next year or make it a June 1st retirement and it's 11.3ml for next two years.

However, if Brees were to retire, the cap does not simply reduce by $25 million. Despite those two void years, if Brees does not play in 2021, the money in those void years accelerates onto the 2021 salary cap. Therefore, the Saints would carry $22.65 million

Oh and Hill is being paid 16ml next year.

Keep reading Winston will be QB next year, he's a FA and can't see him signing for similar money again and how they find a bag of cash to pay him who knows.

Without nothing to show for the past 5 years some of the contracts look worse. A few heavy contracts are going to be like millstones

Jesus at that dead money.

Good point about Taysom making 16million. I could see another team offering Winston a solid contract we won't be able to match

Mike Thomas' contract is a big issue

Problem is Hill is under contract and Winston isn't.
Roughly 95ml in the red and even if you split Brees cap over two years, cut Armstead, Jenkins, Alexander, Sanders, Murray, Robinson you are still $26ml over the projected cap. Though I'm sure they have other work arounds

Just so you all know... we are 96 million over the cap next year.

We’ll be losing a lot more than just Drew. We may not recognize this next Saints team at all.

That’s what I said. 5 or more years until the playoffs. Build the offense around Kamara, Thomas, and our young receivers. Say goodbye to players like Jordan and several others on defense. I expect them to find a way to keep T-Rex in that number but we are gonna lose a lot of people we are fond of.

Just BRUTAL. My Wife had just started sitting with me and my Saints on Christmas... Kamara lighting it up like a Christmas Tree... And then this happened today? Typical Brutal Saints (non) Finish... Bye Drew. THANK YOU for your Service though. Sorry for the whine and cheese guys.

I can't imagine Hendrickson coming back next year. Teams will throw money his way no doubt.

There will be a ton of restructuring deals but this team will look different next year.

The window is officially closed.
