So Drew retires and we have 11.5m in dead cap next year?

I literally said that too in the chat. It had the exact same formula as the last few playoff trips.

Settling for FG's in the redzone.
D playing strong and keeping us in it.
Offensive turnovers then come in bunches.

This loss is a tough one because for the first time in a long time the future is so uncertain. Not sure if we blow the team up and start rebuilding or if they keep trying with this defense and see if someone like Winston or Hill can be enough.

Wouldn't be surprised to see us sign Winston as a bridge for the qb we take in the draft and Taysom keeps his role.

Just prepare yourself for it unless we can trade for Watson or Stafford.

I’m ready for Winston. Honestly I’m ready for anyone but Drew. Drew was great and deserved all the praise in the world, but he should have retired 2 years ago.

Winston has been sitting behind Drew and learning the offense for some time. He should be the guy, Hill had a shot and showed he isn’t a legit QB. I think this team could be good with Winston and Hill as a gadget. The problem will be retaining enough good players to be competitive. We are truly in a cap hell unlike we’ve seen before.

The toughest thing about this loss is no one Saint really stepped up in the 4th quarter. We just fell apart. It was a contrast from the Chiefs, where Mahomes went out and Kelce, Hill, Darrel Williams and others carried the load.

We need to nail this next draft. Major tons of talent available. We can't get outdrafted this year and fall behind.

Either 22.65ml next year or make it a June 1st retirement and it's 11.3ml for next two years.

However, if Brees were to retire, the cap does not simply reduce by $25 million. Despite those two void years, if Brees does not play in 2021, the money in those void years accelerates onto the 2021 salary cap. Therefore, the Saints would carry $22.65 million

Oh and Hill is being paid 16ml next year.

Keep reading Winston will be QB next year, he's a FA and can't see him signing for similar money again and how they find a bag of cash to pay him who knows.

Without nothing to show for the past 5 years some of the contracts look worse. A few heavy contracts are going to be like millstones
