Yep absolutely.

Not the way I wanted it to end if this is indeed it, but we won so many games that we had no business winning because of how lethal Brees was.

What's more, I can't really ask for a more decent human being and stand up guy to have been the face of this franchise.

I think it's best to retire now, thanks for all the memories Drew.

Thank you Drew! Been a blessing for the Saints for many years, and a joy to watch him play.

If this is his last year, he still went out a winner.
He has been a great citizen to NewOrleans off the field.
Brees , on the field, is an ELITE QB.
FUTURE NFL HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE.

He did all he could. Blame Payton for not putting a legitimate defense around him over the last decade.

Our D kicked ass this year. Ranked 4th. They just didn't show up today. Latt and Jenkins did. That's about it.

Yep, thanks Drew. I'll never forget that first fateful offseason after Katrina, when Payton was hired, Brees was signed, Colston was drafted and the Saints not only rebuilt the team but in some sense the city. For various reasons I have been thinking about that time period a lot lately.

Brees has been phenomenal and it's been quite a journey - the first season, the Super Bowl, bounty gate, all the records, the post-season heartbreaks. And if Drew hangs it up it we will be fine, the team will continue to surprise and delight in various ways. Could be a great new chapter for Payton.

The defense did their job, I think. The turnovers in the second half just added up and they got wore down and the run D suffered. Still held Brady under 200 yards passing.

Couldn't have said it better myself. As the game was winding down I felt flooded with all these emotions. All of what you just typed was what was washing over me in those last few minutes and I just started crying.

Thank you Drew for everything you have done for your team, fans and New Orleans.

You are a true ambassador for all that is good in football.

To carry on playing with all that you have had to contend with this season shows what a true and genuine team player you are. Many others would have given up, especially with those kind of injuries to endure but you sucked it up, put on brave face and carried on the best you could, no on can ask more than that.

If you do decide to call it a day, then may I say its been an absolute pleasure watching you play for the black and gold over the years and we will never forget that it was you that finally got us the Super Bowl win we had all been craving for!

Take care Mr Brees and good luck for the future wherever that may take you!

Drew "only" won one Super Bowl, but as any Atlanta Falcons fan will attest, there is an infinite difference between none and one. Think of all those 5000 yard passing seasons he racked up where a little more help elsewhere would have made the difference before you blame him for coming up short yesterday.

If Drew formally announces his retirement, he should be put in the Saints team HOF pronto. If there is a waiting period, totally ignore it.
