Saints to "move on" from Jared Cook this offseason
The Athletic's Katherine Terrell expects the Saints to "move on" from Jared Cook this offseason.
Cook has an $8.04 million roster bonus due on the second day of the new league year, making the move something of a no-brainer for the cap-strapped Saints. Less involved in the offense this season, especially as the year wore on, Cook's 37 receptions were his second fewest since 2010. This, for a team that struggled for healthy pass-catching options. Cutting Cook would create $9.1 million in space for a team that is well north of $100 million over the cap. Cook turns 34 in April. https://www.rotoworld.com/football/n...930/jared-cook |

I hope so. He has a noodle arm.

I won't even be able to recall his name in a couple of seasons. He had some impactful plays but I have more memories of him running sloppy routes without enthusiasm, dropping balls, and yelling at Drew when Drew tried to talk about his routes. I won't miss him.
Plus, we've got his replacement with a full years seasoning under his belt ready to step in. Trautman looks like he's an all around great young tight end who is a willing blocker. |
Re: Saints to "move on" from Jared Cook this offseason
Good, he had poor body language all year. Seemed like he didn't want to be here. Trautman will step in, and if we get good QB play I wouldn't be surprised if he went to the probowl.

His body language was bad mid season, didn't seem to be dialed in, then the fumbling.
Jared made his own bed. |

Good, my bigging up of Josh Hill as the future in 2015 will finally come to fruition

He'll end up working at the Bunny Bread Factory since he holds a football like a loaf of bread in a grocery store. He wouldn't want to use to hands and squeeze the Charmin.

You’ll get what you wish for this year. We should draft a late round TE for depth, we might get a Kittle |
Re: Saints to "move on" from Jared Cook this offseason
It's absolutely time to see what we have in Adam Trautman going forward.
I think CSP adds another TE to work those seam routes. |
