Sean may want to rethink his not taking LSU players, especially linebackers...

Don't think we could have drafted him faster than the 5th overall pick like the Bucs got him with. And just out of curiosity, which LSU linebackers were the Saints in position to draft and didn't?

2020 draft Patrick Queen. 65 solo total tackles/40 assisted/3 sacks/2 FF and 1 INT. Very good production in his rookie season for Baltimore.

We selected (I'm not complaining) Ruiz instead.

Speed at lb is a must. White were in every picture , near every tackle, on every play thru out the playoffs except Washington I believe and into to S bowl. What does Payton and mick don’t get. Love triangle with Fabio/ Thor slash bust well 3 rder can’t say that we fail often on those

Having 2 LB's that can run like greyhounds and being able to match an offense's speed in the nickel more easily is now going to be the new meta in the NFL. The fast LB's out of college are going to be in high demand now. The Vander Esch's aren't going to fall in the draft like they used to.

Also the saints defense lost there mojo when quon went down. I would take a LSU LB that didn’t start or played second fiddle to stacked players over there. There built on speed and cover always have been.,but I don’t know diddily squat. Offensively we were in trouble before the season began. People talk about Drew didn’t have that eye of the tiger. I never responded to the few that were saying this but may have had something going. Not the commander on the field? I just can’t finger it. Maybe when MT went down he knew it was gonna be a beotch season.

...not according to some folks - we were just fine with Anzalone...

In DW's case, True.

Was making a humourous (and truthful) reference of the perception (ongoing joke here) that they're have been LSU and LBer options (and LSU LBers) on the draft board in second, third rounds...

Those were usually traded a way because of regular moving up in the draft...

And for what it's worth, I'm on board with the BPA - but I'd prefer either a CB or OT at the end of the first round...

Matt Miller, formerly of Bleacher Report, has launched his own draft website and his first mock draft is free for non-subscribers. Here’s the link...

https://www.thedraftscout.com/p/the-draft-scout-mock-10

Here’s what he has the Saints doing and I think we’d be very pleased:

28. New Orleans Saints- LB Jabril Cox, LSU
Analysis: Barring a massive trade and a lot of assets trading hands, the Saints head into the offseason without an expected starting quarterback.

With no quarterbacks on the board who can become the replacement to Drew Brees, the Saints are likely to rely on the return of Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill to solve the quarterback position.

So where do you go with pick No. 28 overall? You address the defense.

Jabril Cox was hard to miss at LSU thanks to his 6’4”, 245 pound frame and ability as a lockdown coverage linebacker when matched up against tight ends and backs. He shined once again during Senior Bowl week and secured his position as a Round 1 talent.

The former North Dakota State star has the athletic tools, coverage traits and instincts the NFL craves for linebackers.

60. New Orleans Saints
The Pick: CB Elijah Molden, Washington
Previous Pick: LB
